Authoring services

Cognisco offers a full range of services to organisations who either have their own specialist Instructional Designers or who would like a full authoring service. The Authoring Services can include the provision of qualified personnel only or, as many of Cognisco’s clients prefer, use both personnel and authoring products including Cognisco QUESTION*KNOW™ and OUTLINE*KNOW™ in conjunction with RUN*KNOW™.

Cognisco authors are skilled in the art of writing appraisal questionnaires. All authoring projects are managed by both Cognisco’s Appraisal Solutions Consultants and Project Managers to ensure quality and delivery on time. The rates for learning and appraisal authoring are comparable with contract technical author rates. If organisations employ their own Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), or want to set up their own in-house authoring team, Cognisco can offer learning and appraisal authoring consultancy, recruitment and training.

Cognisco authors are skilled in the art of writing sophisticated questions to measure whether an individual understands a specific subject but also measure their depth of understanding that subject. A Cognisco authored learning and appraisal programme ensures that:

bullet point All questions will allow the employees to demonstrate that they have achieved all the intended learning outcomes
bullet point All questions will be unambiguous and uncomplicated
bullet point All questions will ensure that core competency, skills and knowledge for that particular job role, level or family are appraised
bullet point All questions will be clear and delivered in the local language
bullet point Questions will present increasingly complex scenarios as the individuals move up the job levels
bullet point All questions will be tested for appropriateness before appraisal programmes go live
bullet point All questions will be challenging rather than overcomplicated

In addition Cognisco has developed the 8 Steps to Growing a Cognisco, a unique training programme for companies who wish to grow the skills to author content for their own learning and appraisal solutions.
